KarangKraf reaping the benefits through Cloud Computing

"With a fast response time and excellent customer service, our experience with iWV has been very pleasant. Their in-depth technical knowledge and experience in managing Cloud solutions have ensured we maintained 100% uptime so far." - Syamil Fahim Bin Mohamed Fahim Chief Operating Officer Kumpulan Media Karangkraf (KARANGKRAF)

Situation: Karangkraf’s infrastructure runs on Hyper V which are housed in Dell Servers. This is a critical flaw in any infrastructure as there is no redundancy built-in. Should the hardware fail, not only will it disrupt business operations, it will also affect the reputation of Karangkraf. Even when it is time to change or upgrade the hardware, they will not be able to do it without disrupting any operations. In additional, the IT team has to shoulder the burden of managing and maintaining the server. This proved to be both time consuming and expensive. What they wanted was something hassle free and scalable to their needs.

Task: Karangkraf was looking for someone to help them resolve their infrastructure flaws. They needed to provide redundancy in their infrastructure to ensure operations are kept running at all times. They were also looking to reduce costs of hardware infrastructure and increase the scalability of their infrastructure.

Action: iWV proposed migrating Karangkraf’s current infrastructure to the cloud. This will ensure a built-in redundancy while retaining the capability to scale up/down anytime. iWV also provided Karangkraf’s IT team with a Virtual Data Center (VDC) platform for them to manage their resources remotely which will reduce the consumption of the team’s resources tremendously.

Result: After hosting with iWV, Karangkraf achieved the following:

  1. 100% uptime which boosted the confidence of internal and external stakeholders
  2. Scalability and flexibility which improved responsiveness to market demands and minimized idle resource
  3. 50% cost savings compared to previous infrastructure
  4. Sustaining peaks in business cycles
  5. Effectively optimizing Capex (no more upfront investment on hardware and maintenance) and Opex (pay-as-you-use model)
  6. IT resources now able to focus on business needs since infrastructure is now maintained by iWV
